As the Program Manager for ACT Tulsa accelerator, Taleya will oversee and manage the execution of ACT Tulsa’s accelerator program. Leveraging her past experience, she will work with a group of amazing and diverse startups to support their growth and accelerate the diversity within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through the accelerator program, Taleya will help to direct cohort members in the areas of team cohesion, product development, business development and customer development. Taleya is dedicated to building strategic relationships within Tulsa’s rising ecosystem and assisting founders participating in the ACT Tulsa program to grow and develop their businesses.

Taleya Mayberry is a Tulsa native who is deeply connected in her community and extremely proud of her Tulsa roots. As the daughter of a former NBA player and Tulsa native, there was no doubt that playing sports would be a part of Taleya’s story. While she had many opportunities to play Division 1 basketball in various states across the US, she made a conscious decision to pursue her basketball career in Tulsa. Off the court, Taleya received her undergraduate degree in Business and was equally as passionate about utilizing her ability to build relationships and grow individuals from a business aspect.

After playing professional basketball in several countries over the course of 3 years, Taleya returned home to obtain her MBA degree at Oral Roberts University and later joined the University of Tulsa women’s basketball program as an assistant coach. During her coaching career, she not only helped with basketball skill development and mentoring young women, but also played a key role in the retention, graduation and job placement of the women’s basketball players that finished the program.
