The Seed Capital Fund, managed by i2E Inc., recently closed a $150,000 investment in Tulsa-based ReTenant, part of a $300,000 funding round that also included $25,000 from the i2E-managed SeedStep Angels and angel investors from out of state.

ReTenant developed and markets a smartphone app that allows apartment complex managers to connect with tenants through a variety of news feeds and direct messaging features. The application also tracks service requests and has a tenant feedback feature, as well as a click-to-call function that can route calls to apartment staff.

“This round of funding guarantees that ReTenant can develop a sales strategy both in and outside of Oklahoma and continue to develop our unique and unmatched white label app,” said Rania Nasreddine, the company’s CEO.

The Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund is a state-appropriated investment fund through the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology that provides concept, seed and startup equity investments to the state’s innovative businesses. Since its launch in 2008, the Seed Capital Fund has invested in 16 Oklahoma-based startup companies.

The SeedStep Angels group was founded by i2E in 2009 and has chapters in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Ardmore and Muskogee. Investments by SeedStep Angels members total more than $4 million.
