Oklahoma teams swept first place awards in both Graduate and Undergraduate divisions. Roll2Roll Technologies from Oklahoma State University won the Graduate Division competition, while FieldFocus from the University of Oklahoma won the Undergraduate Division.
Each team won $30,000, and their faculty advisors won $3,500 each.
The two-day event began on Monday, May 20, with a reception hosted by the sponsoring Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
On Tuesday, the competition itself began with the top two teams in each division from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Nevada presenting their business plan to panels of judges. The presentations lasted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an awards dinner beginning at 6:30.
By 8 p.m., we learned that Oklahoma teams had won the top prizes. Arkansas and Nevada each had a second place team.
In addition to the team results, OU’s Susan Moring from FieldFocus won the Undergraduate pitch competition and $2,000.
Also competing for Oklahoma was EchoCharge from the University of Tulsa, Graduate Division; and Code Sooq, also from TU, Undergraduate Division.
