A group of OU students swept the competition in an undergraduate collegiate business pitch competition in Las Vegas this week.
The team, FieldFocus, won after delivering the best business plan pitch, thus defeating five other teams from Oklahoma, Nevada and Arkansas in the Donald W. Reynolds Tri State Competition, for which they received a $30,000 cash prize, a team trophy and individual plaques, according to the press release.
FieldFocus is a software development startup created through the Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth. Its main focus is creating software for small businesses in the oil and gas industry, allowing them to better manage logistical matters and potentially increase revenue by 10 to 30 percent, according to the press release.
“It’s a great team,” FieldFocus adviser Robert Free said. “If you can make it through all this, this is the end prize.”
