Brookings Institution report on the Hidden STEM economy

A report by the Brookings Institution called “The Hidden STEM Economy” received attention this week in newspapers across the nation, including Oklahoma.   The report broke down the impact of STEM – science, technology, engineering and math – jobs in each of 100 metropolitan areas.

You can read the story written by The Oklahoman’s Adam Wilmoth here.   The story was accompanied by a graphic that reported the number of STEM jobs in the Oklahoma City metro area – 105,890 – as well as the number of jobs that require specialized STEM knowledge in each individual area.

I clicked on the report on the Brookings site and saw that it listed the top 10 STEM occupations for the Oklahoma City metropolitan area along with the number of jobs and the percent that require bachelor’s degrees.
