i2E, Inc., Oklahoma’s investment and business advisory nonprofit group, has been awarded almost $200,000 through the federal Economic Development Administration to expand its successful Venture Assessment Program for early stage businesses into rural Oklahoma.

The funding will be used to create a new version of its Venture Assessment Program tailored to Oklahoma’s rural and Native American entrepreneurs and companies.

i2E was one of 35 nonprofits, institutions of higher education and entrepreneur-focused organizations from 19 states that were awarded a total of $15 million to create and expand initiatives to support entrepreneurship.

Launched in 2014 as an intensive, three-week curriculum for companies at the very earliest stages, i2E’s Venture Assessment Program helps entrepreneurs assess their opportunity through talking directly to potential customers to learn about their problems and assess the competitive landscape they are facing.
