Steve Davis is chief operating officer at Oklahoma City’s Integral Dynamics and the incoming chairman of the Oklahoma Venture Forum. He was featured in the current OVF newsletter, and had some kind words to say about the excitement he’s seen in the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup.
Here’s what Steve had to say about the GovCup, followed by a link to the OVF newsletter, where you can read the complete article (it’s the last article in the newsletter):
Taking a young company to the next level may be a new adventure for Steve Davis, but that doesn’t mean it’s an unfamiliar concept. “I caught the entrepreneur bug from going to Oklahoma Venture Forum meetings,” he says. “I got to hear all these interesting stories about starting companies.”
Steve Davis is already returning the favor. He is currently on the OVF executive board and has been selected as Chairman-Elect for the 2015-16 session. “My hope is to make OVF more inclusive as far as the universities and entrepreneurial students are concerned,” he says. “We want to make it more exciting for them to get involved in OVF. The Governor’s Cup is a perfect example.”
The Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup is a competition for college students who have developed a comprehensive business plan. “At a recent awards event,” says Steve Davis, ‘if you could have put the enthusiasm in that room into a can, you could have sold it as an energy boost. That’s the type of thing we look forward to doing at OVF next year.”
