2016 Community Recognition Award

Award Description
The purpose of the Community Recognition Award is to recognize individuals, companies or institutions for significant contributions to Oklahoma’s bioscience industry.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Open to any individual, company or institution that has made a significant contribution to the bioscience industry through leadership, community involvement, actions and service.
  2. Nominee’s contributions must have been in Oklahoma for the past 3 consecutive years as of the deadline date.
  3. Previous year’s submittals are accepted.
  4. Availability to attend the Awards Ceremony on March 24, 2016.

Deadlines

  • Application: February 15, 2016, 3 PM
  • Finalists announced: February 22, 2016
  • Award Ceremony: March 24, 2016 at Embassy Suites Downtown Medical Center

Nomination Process

Nominations can be submitted by anyone who is knowledgeable about a successful Oklahoman who displayed outstanding community or service to the bioscience industry. Self-nominations will be accepted.

Selection Process
A multidisciplinary panel of local and national experts will review nominations and make recommendations based on the following selection criteria:

  1. Extent to which nominee’s contributions made significant contributions to Oklahoma’s bioscience industry.
  2. A history of active participation in the community and a commitment to ensuring its future vitality.
  3. Letters of support reflect a significant impact of the nominee’s contributions in the support of the bioscience industry.

    Narrative Statement form to be completed by the nominator.

    Proposals will be reviewed by multidisciplinary panels, so care should be taken to explain achievements in a way that can be appreciated by non-specialists in the field.

    Nominators should focus on one or two accomplishments and major contributions that show support of the bioscience industry in Oklahoma.

    Note: This section can be up to 2 pages in length, single-spaced, 12 point font, with 1-inch margins.

  • Nominee Curriculum Vitae or Resume

    List of completed, current and pending activities that have been significant in the support of the bioscience industry.

    Professional settings such as a conference speaker or lecturer (please indicate keynote, plenary, or invited); and/or,

    List of outreach and engaged/public service.

    Memberships in and service to professional organizations.

    Mentorship or role model activities.

    Note: This section can be up to 4 pages in length, single-spaced, 12 point font, with 1-inch margins.

  • Optional

    No more than 5 pages of other materials supporting the candidate's achievements, such as professional articles and press clippings. This content needs to be at the end of the pdf file.

  • Submission Instructions

    Nomination materials, including the cover page and any optional materials up to 5 pages, must be combined into a single PDF file. The file name should read: 2016 COMMUNITY NOMINEE APPLICATION followed by a hyphen and the nominee’s last name.

    The PDF file will be uploaded in the Nomination Materials PDF section below or emailed to Sarah Seagraves at sseagraves@i2E.org.org.

    Nominations must be received by the deadline. Late material will not be considered. A confirmation email will be sent to the nominator/nominee to ensure materials were received.
